Quality Management System
Our management system is certified to the IATF16949 International Automotive Quality Standard as well as VDA 6.3. Our core surface treatment technologies are certified annually to the AIAG CQI-11(plating systems) or CQI-12(coating systems) standards.
Our management system is designed to build quality into our systems, processes and procedures vs. trying to inspect quality into the product. We accomplish this objective by applying a team-based performance-driven approach to quality assurance and control that is powered by a spirit of continuous improvement (small improvements made every day that amount to significant improvements).
Quality Planning and Assurance
In order to accomplish this objective our Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) team works directly with our customers to understand the requirements and expectations of each customer. We then focus on engineering and optimizing the tooling, masking, material handling and packaging/labeling associated with each project through the application of mistake-proofing, automation and visual management techniques in order to establish standardized work that meets each of our customer’s requirements and expectations.
Quality Control
We place the responsibility for quality control (following standardized work) in the hands of our production associates. Our team of process technicians, maintenance technicians and quality technicians monitor key/critical process parameters through an electronic dashboard and periodic check points to provide real time data, trend analysis and feedback. Our electronic work order system is fully-automated and provides on-line visibility for order tracking as well as traceability for our customers.
Continuous Improvement
Our continuous improvement process is centered on a mentality of “finding and fixing” problems before they occur. If and when problems do occur, our corrective action process is designed to protect our customers and prevent recurrence using the automotive industry standard 8D team-oriented problem-solving methodology.
